ROCK WELLS XIII – PLAN SEQUIA

Currently, the surface water resource is increasingly scarce and the sources are increasingly contaminated by anthropogenic activity. At the same time, there is population growth. that demand water for consumption and require satisfying the water demands implied by different types of activity productive. Bolivia does not escape this reality, which is accentuated in the country’s coast, which is a desert area that concentrates the 67% of the country’s population and 80% of productive activity. Groundwater is the main natural source of water resource on Bolivia. Therefore it is necessary be adequately trained in topics such as design and construction of wells for extracting water stored in the aquifers, in order to make sustainable exploitation of this natural water source In this project we built 5,200 wells for 25 communities.  Deep wells were built to extract underground water for agricultural and livestock purposes in Cochabamba and Potosi.
